Are headaches fun? Do you love when your head pains? Of course, not. Headaches are never welcome especially when you have plenty of work to complete at your work desk. One thing that has been linked with more headaches is the poor ergonomics during the screen time. More and more screen based activities are linked with headaches in adolescents. Rather than the screen being used, the ergonomics play an important part in triggering headaches. So, when ergonomics is the factor, the workers need to ensure that they have set up their things ergonomically when they engage in a screen-based activity.
Here is the list of things that one can do to alleviate headaches, neck pain and Stafford TMJ.
1. Head and neck rotation – it is very important to look around once in 15 minutes during the screen activities. Try to rotate your neck and head for a while to relax yourself.
2. Head and neck flexion - never keep your screen either too low or too high. If it is so, you might be putting extra pressure on your neck muscles as they are trying to hold your head in that position for quite long. You should work on changing the height of the screen to adjust according to the position of your head.
3. Screen distance – This is equally important because proper posture is very important to ensure that you are sitting upright, slightly reclined, back resting on the backrest of your chair and elbows should be 90 degrees of the flexion when you are using the keyboard.
